The press conference dedicated to Xiaomi's new smart watches brought three products. Amazfit GTS, which is seen as the new competitor of Apple Watch and Amazfit Sports Watch 3, which is the natural successor of Amazfit Stratos were highlights. But the big surprise of the day was Amazfit X: a concept that presents itself as a "clock from the future".
Unlike the first two, Amazfit X is not a conventional smartwatch. This concept, scheduled to launch in the first half of 2020, has a flexible dashboard that promises to have 244% more screen availability than similarly sized devices.
Still in the prototype phase, a curved 2.07-inch AMOLED screen was promised. We are talking about a screen with 326ppi (pixels per inch) and 430 nits of brightness.
Amazfit X is twice the size of the Mi Band 4
To get a sense of the size of this panel, it has more than twice the screen available than the Mi Band 4 (which is 0.95 inches). Its construction is in metal, with hidden electronic buttons.
The screen curvature is 92 degrees. This was achieved by heating the metal body to temperatures of about 700 ° C in a process of 6 folding levels.
Amazfit X has 7 days battery life
The Amazfit X uses a 220mAh battery, which has promised a battery life of 7 days. Since the motherboard cannot be curved, it uses a 3-segment motherboard to fit your body.
Xiaomi calls it a “clock from the future,” which is not really such a distant future. It has been promised that it will be launched during the first half of 2020, and as yet no prices have been announced.
