The smartphone market is increasingly competitive, with various manufacturers trying the most unlikely marketing campaigns to make their products stand out as much as possible. In addition to its level of performance, innovations and photographic capabilities, the durability of smartphones remains one of the most important points for users.
With this in mind, the President of Xiaomi has revealed that they will have a very interesting experiment with the popular Redmi Note 8. According to its publication on the Chinese social network Weibo, on January 17 they will send Redmi Note 8 to Antarctica.
The main goal of this challenge is to prove that the smartphone will be able to withstand the incredibly low temperatures of the coldest continent in the world.
Smartphones have great difficulties in negative temperatures
Like most mass-market electronics, smartphones are not (supposedly) prepared to function perfectly in such adverse conditions. In Antarctica, temperatures can easily reach -60 ° C, conditions unthinkable in most markets where Xiaomi is present.
Clearly, Lu Weibing is confident that even under these conditions the Redmi Note 8 will be able to deliver impressive performance. No technical details were revealed about this test, but it is likely that a brand representative will try to use the smartphone to perform basic tasks.
In addition, we will surely be able to enjoy some impressive photos taken by the smartphone.
