Xiaomi Redmi K40 Pro on the way? Snapdragon 888 confirmed in new smartphone

This Tuesday is marked by the official launch of the high-end processor that will equip the main smartphones of the first half of 2020 – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. And immediately the first confirmations of the brands began to appear.

Xiaomi immediately went ahead to communicate on social media that the Mi 11 will arrive “very soon” with this processor. And his sub-brand, Redmi, promptly confirmed that he will follow in his footsteps.

Redmi will be among the first brands to use the Snapdragon 888

Through the voice of the director general, Lu Weibing, it became known that Redmi will also be among the first to launch a smartphone with the Snapdragon 888. And the most likely is that this is the Redmi K40 Pro.

Lu Weibing, CEO of Redmi, confirmed Snapdragon 888
Lu Weibing, CEO of Redmi, confirmed Snapdragon 888 on the brand soon

“By the way, send another version in English: Redmi will also be among the first equipped with the Snapdragon 888 processor”, it can be read in the publication made by the executive on the social network Weibo.

It is worth mentioning that, in addition to this statement, the executive did not leave any further details about the coming equipment. But if we take into account the brand’s past, a new Redmi K will be the natural candidate for the processor.

The Redmi K20 Pro was the first high-end smartphone in the Xiaomi sub-brand, and a true flagship killer. It arrived, to date, with the Snadragon 855 processor and a full screen thanks to the pop-up camera. Globally it would be called Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro.

Its natural successor was the Redmi K30 Pro. The design ideology and top features at a lower price were maintained. The lack of an update rate higher than 60Hz was the most pointed fault, of what is known globally as Poco F2 Pro.
