After the big event yesterday in China, Xiaomi had another busy day today, but this time in India. Today was the turn to introduce the Redmi 8A, its new offering in the 'budget' segment. This is the successor of the popular Redmi 7A and promises incredible value for money.
It is important to remember that this is a smartphone that has a base price of around € 83, which ends up considerably appreciating its modest specifications.
Xiaomi Redmi 8A Specifications
- 6.2 "inch HD + display with a small drop-shaped notch
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 Processor
- 2GB / 3GB RAM
- 32GB of storage (MicroSD card support)
- 12 megapixel rear camera (Sony IMX363 sensor)
- 8 megapixel front camera
- 5,000mAh Battery with 18W Fast Charging Support (USB-C)
- Android Pie, MIUI 10
Once again considering its extremely affordable price, it will be difficult to find a smartphone that offers more in this segment. Even when it comes to its photographic capabilities, even though you can't expect extreme quality photos, the Sony IMX363 sensor should be able to guarantee acceptable performance.
The Redmi 8A comes with a modern, minimalist design with curved ends to enhance wearing comfort. Its front panel has very thin side margins. However, its lower margin is much thicker, where the brand logo is integrated.
Pricing and Availability
Its presentation was made for the Indian market only and no information on the other international markets was revealed. However, it is expected that this smartphone budget eventually arrive in Europe even before the end of the year.
The Redmi 8A has been presented in three colors (black, blue and red) and will be available from September 29 in two variants:
- 2GB RAM + 32GB Internal Memory – € 83
- 3GB RAM + 32GB Internal Memory – € 89
