Redmi is Xiaomi’s sub-brand, created to compete in more specific markets, just like Huawei with the Honor sub-brand. Having launched a laptop under the name Redmi last year, a recent Xiaomi record indicates an expansion of the brand’s product catalog.
Xiaomi recently registered in India the name “RedmiBook” indicating that the manufacturer will start a bet on laptops in the Indian territory. Its current range of laptops, Mi Book, is very successful in Asia. Thus, the launch of a RedmiBook in India may be coming soon.
Xiaomi’s latest move was to launch the RedmiBook 13 along with the Redmi K30 phone. It is likely that the company will do the same thing in India by launching both devices at the same time in a promotional manner.
Xiaomi, under the name Redmi, is one of the most important brands in the Indian market. As an emerging market where consumers prioritize price above all, brands such as Xiaomi and rival Realme (Oppo) have been quite commercially successful.
Xiaomi RedmiBook 13 is a lightweight, slim and powerful notebook
The RedmiBook 13 seems to be very well done when it comes to design. The notebook weighs only 1.23 kg and is one of the slimmest notebooks launched by the brand. Not only the design but its interior also meets the minimum requirements for a work machine.
The laptop has a Full HD + screen. Choose from a 10th generation i5 or i7 processor and a configuration of 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD storage. The graphics level has a Nvidia MX250 with 2GB of dedicated memory. This is not a gaming laptop at all, but a productivity machine.
Its price, in the most powerful version, is around 720 euros, an excellent price for such features. Unfortunately, these interesting prices are unlikely to reach consumers outside India and other Asian markets.
