Xiaomi has a new big event scheduled for September 24th. In this we will meet the MIUI 11, the Mi 9 Pro 5G, but also the successor of Mi Mix 3, called Mi Mix Alpha.
According to promotional material that has been published by Xiaomi, this device will hit the market with a design quite different from its predecessor. According to one of the posters, the device will arrive with a curved screen on the sides, similar to the already launched Vivo Nex 3.

This became known as the waterfall screen. Remember that these are OLED panels that surround the sides of the smartphone. In this way, they can offer a larger screen / body ratio and provide new possibilities for use thanks to the 'extra space'.
Xiaomi promises screen / body ratio greater than 100%
In a new image, Xiaomi has already predicted that the terminal will arrive with the highest screen / body ratio on a branded device. This will be over 100%, so a pretty immersive experience can be expected.

Alpha may be Xiaomi's first folding
Within a few days of launch, we are starting to get a clearer picture of what the Mix Alpha screen will look like. However, the site Gizmochina raised the question "what if this is a folding smartphone?".
The argument revolves around the fact that smartphone appears on the first poster surrounded by books. Also, Alpha usually means the first version of a particular product, and Xiaomi has not shown us any folding yet. Day 24 we will have all the answers.
