The Mi Smart Band 6 (better known as Mi Band 6) finally came into our hands. We’ve already taken Xiaomi’s new smart bracelet out of the box, and you can see everything in the video below directly from our Instagram. The initial highlight goes invariably to the new full screen of the bracelet.

A first look at the Mi Band 6

As soon as we took the Mi Band 6 out of the box, we noticed that the design looks unchanged. The magnetic charger is the same, and the external appearance has not undergone any visible changes compared to the Mi Band 5. This is how we connect the smartband that we notice the differences. This is because we have a 49% larger screen, which now counts with 1.56 “inches.

The first connection to the Mi Fit app and its pairing to my iPhone, is done with the usual ease. And so we started using the Mi Band 6, the first impressions are that the amount of additional information that we can have on this screen will make a difference. The most notorious change is that we lost the “button” at the bottom of the screen, which wakes up with a touch on any area or a swipe (slide). If you had one of the previous models, there is a learning curve there.

The watchface you see in the images is, for now, my favorite. In this one we are able to have in addition to the hours, direct access to the steps, weather, calories burned, heartbeat and PAI system. As always, the range of watchfaces available is immense. But as it arrives incremented, you have the advantage of being able to click directly on each of the information. For example, click on the weather, and directly access more data.

Navigation is done with swipes (glides). When you slide your finger up or down, you have access to navigation through the various “applications” available. The side slides give you access to shortcuts that you can customize. By default, we have access to the control of music and weather data.

Now let’s see how you behave when measuring steps, blood oxygen, sleep and especially at the sport level. With the ability to automatically perceive certain sports monitoring (for example, cycling), I will want to understand how accurate it can be in that sense. Being able to control the music while doing sports will certainly also be a bonus.

In the next few days we will publish the complete analysis. Any question you would like to have answered, leave it in the comments. The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is now on sale at Mi Store UK for € 44.99.
