Mi Band 3 and Mi Band 4 are preparing to receive a big news in the next update. These will now be able to unlock your computer. The only requirement is that it has Windows 10.
For now this is a feature only available in India. But it should be a matter of time before Xiaomi launches globally, through an update to the Mi Fit app.
In this update, Mi Band 4 moves to version 188.8.131.52 of firmware, which brought users this possibility. However, the app also received other improvements already noticed by users.
Apparently, some noticed that there was an improvement in the step count of the bracelet, avoiding the so-called “phantom steps”. In version 4.0.17 of the Mi Fit app, it now also supports registration with Apple ID.
As soon as your Mi Fit app has this version, you will be able to receive the update of your Mi Band 3 or Mi Band 4. However, this should reach users gradually in the near future.
It’s good to see Xiaomi concerned with launching features on its older smart bracelets. This novelty comes at a time when it is believed that the Mi Band 5 can be presented as early as next April 3rd. Hopefully this is where we have a Mi Band with NFC to be launched globally.
