In 2018, two of the smartphones launched by Xiaomi became extremely popular, as they offered fans of the brand a pure experience of the Google operating system. The Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite have become one of the most popular Android One smartphones ever.
However, its popularity ended up being affected heavily with constant delays in the release of the various updates. Now, in addition to these problems, the arrival of Android 10 on the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite brings extremely serious problems.
According to several users on the Reddit platform, after the desired update the LCD of their smartphones was permanently damaged. As you can see in the image, the lower part of the LCD presents serious problems.
Investment risk in a Xiaomi Mi A seems to be increasing
There is no doubt that the smartphones of the Xiaomi Mi A family remain the ones that offer the best price / quality ratio, especially for users wishing to purchase an Android One smartphone. However, the investment risk seems to be increasing.
These smartphones always ended up presenting several bugs and major controversies due to their delayed updates. Now, with these new reports, it seems that the best decision will be to invest in any other smartphone.
It was not yet possible to confirm the cause of these “burns” on the LCD screen of the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, but it is possible that a bug in the update caused too much energy to be sent to the screen, eventually burning it.
In addition to this serious problem, a user also reported that the battery indicator on his Mi A2 Lite was “stuck” at 66% after the update. Even after charging for several hours, the display never exceeded this value.
We are still waiting for the manufacturer to make official comments on this new information, confirming whether or not there is a problem with the update. It is not at all impossible that a bug was the cause of this permanent damage to the LCD of several Mi A2 Lite.
If confirmed, it will be interesting to see the measures taken by the manufacturer to compensate its users. Until everything is clear, if you have a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, do not update to Android 10!
