If there were any doubt that the release of Xiaomi Mi 10 is approaching, there is now no reason for that. Through social network Weibo, a Redmi executive confirms that the new high-end Mi will arrive in the first quarter of 2020.
This statement turns out not to be a surprise, given Xiaomi's track record. In recent years, the Chinese company has moved to Barcelona – to MWC – where it usually unveils its first high-end of the year.
That said, the new Xiaomi Mi 10 is expected to be the star of the technology conference next February. If this is the case then this equipment should be unveiled on February 23, 2020.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Will Be First to Come with Snapdragon 865
The news came from the co-founder of Xiaomi when presenting the Snapdragon 865. At that point, Lin Bin noted on stage that the Xiaomi Mi 10 would be the first smartphone to hit the market with the new Qualcomm processor.
It should be emphasized that it will be "one of the first" to arrive with this processor. The Samsung Galaxy S11 may well be the pioneer as its presentation is speculated for February 18th.
This strategy was also used in 2019, with the Xiaomi Mi 9 being the first to be announced with the Snapdragon 855. This allows the Chinese to gain some advantage over their direct competitors early in the year.
Entering the realm of speculation, it would be no wonder that the Xiaomi Mi 10 arrived with a 120Hz display. If Redmi has already put it on the Redmi K30, I don't see why Xiaomi doesn't do the same on its high end.
We can still expect the inclusion of a 108MP lens on its back, accompanied by at least two more. It will be interesting to see what China's strategy for its front camera will be. Will we have a hole in the screen or a popup system?
