The discovery was made by the XDA-Developers forum. According to this source, Xiaomi is already working on bringing to the market a smartphone that can record video at 8K at 30fps (frames per second).
With a resolution of 7680×4320, this information was found in the MIUI 11 Camera APK. At this moment there is no Xiaomi smartphone capable of recording 8K video.
Mi MIX Alpha records "only" 6K at 30fps
The recently announced Mi MIX Alpha, for example, stands for 6K recording at 30fps. And it is good to note that it has the Samsung Bright HMX 108 megapixel sensor.
At the moment there are only two processors capable of supporting 8K video recording at 30fps. We are talking about the Samsung Exynos 9820 and 9825. This means that this smartphone will arrive with Qualcomm's next-generation top processor.
Nubia Red Magic 3 records 8K at 15fps
At the time of writing this article there is only one 8K capable smartphone on the market. This is Nubia Red Magic 3 which, however, only records at 15fds at this resolution.
Judging from this information, Xiaomi should continue to collaborate with Samsung in the development of its upcoming cameras. We'll see if image stabilization will match the recording resolution on this upcoming smartphone, which may well be the Xiaomi Mi 10.
