IDC revealed last week that Apple is a leader in the hearable segment, thanks to the success of the Airpods. But according to Canalys market analysts, wearables are Xiaomi.
In a segment where devices such as smartwatches or smartbands are accounted for, Xiaomi has grown 74.4% over the past year. In the third quarter of 2019, the Mi Band 4 manufacturer even reached 12.2 million orders.
This means that during this period Xiaomi has a market share in this segment of 27%. According to Canalys, this is due to “strong domestic performance and aggressive global expansion”.
The truth is that the runner-up, Apple, appears in this period with 15% market share. According to the data revealed, 60% of orders are actually from Apple Watch 5, its latest smartwatch.
Huawei close to Apple
Closing the podium we find Huawei, who with 13% already bites his heels to Apple. It brings in 5.9 million orders with 13% market share during this quarter.
Closing accounts are Fitbit with 8% market share and Samsung with 6%. Some interesting data show that Xiaomi has achieved annual growth of 243%, thanks largely to sales in China.
