With the launch of the new iPhone 12, Apple sold the most smartphones during this quarter. We are talking about a volume of 90.1 million items, which gives it a market share of 23.4% and an increase of 22.2% over the same period.
Second is the usual market leader – Samsung. It stood at 73.9 million items and 19.1% market share. Even so, it grew 6.2% compared to the last quarter of 2019.
Xioami consolidated 3rd place and 32% increase compared to the last quarter of 2019
The big surprise is Xiaomi, which consolidates the third place. During this quarter it achieved 11.2% of market share, thanks to 43.3 million shipments. Compared to the same period last year, it registered an amazing increase of 32.0%.
Huawei took a monumental drop in the smartphone industry
Oppo is the fourth classified, but it is in the fifth place that is the great highlight for the negative. Once fighting for first place, Huawei stood by an 8.4% market share and 32.3 million shipments. This meant a drop in sales of almost half compared to the same period last year, registering a 42.4% decrease in one year.
When the figures include the entire year, Samsung leads with an outstanding market share of 20.6%, followed by Apple with 15.9%. Huawei was still third with 14.6%, but already falling 21.5% in one year. Lurking is already Xiaomi with an annual share of 11.4%.
