Just this week we saw a senior Xiaomi executive, Donovan Sung, step down for Google. Today we see another one taking the same initiative by leaving Xiaomi, more precisely the Poco sub brand, even when we believe the Pocophone F2 is here at the door.
Jai Mani, is the product director of Poco brand and one of the main responsible for the success of the first Pocophone F1 smartphone. Therefore, Xiaomi, like all Mi Fans, looks to this type of executive to get an idea of what is coming.
Jai Mai leaves Xiaomi for no apparent reason
If in Donovan Sung's case we knew that there is an interest in representing Google and that is a major reason for leaving his position at Xiaomi, in Jai Mani's case this is not the case.
The executive said goodbye to Xiaomi and the only message he put on his Twitter profile was "Interested in health care + technology, especially mental health (open DMs!)"
Will this delay the Xiaomi Pocophone F2?
Given the importance of Mani's position, it is possible that the smartphone will have a slight delay in its launch. Rumors have been few and information leaks non-existent. Xiaomi Pocophone F2 is expected to be official in August, however we are almost there and there is no indication that this will happen.
By the way, I mentioned a while ago that it seems to me that the brand was "slightly abandoned" in order to highlight the other sub brand Redmi. Is this what motivated Jai Mani's departure?
Speculation aside, we'll have to wait and see. It is too early to realize what the impact of this output will be. The truth is that a brand like Xiaomi must already be more than prepared for this eventuality. Still, it came at an unfavorable time.
