Despite major improvements presented by Google Maps over the past few months, the large community created in Waze continues to make this the most complete navigation service. A new update is now providing a new list of weather-related notifications.
For now, it has only been confirmed in the United States and Canada, but is likely to eventually reach other global markets over the coming weeks. The new weather report menu will let you warn other drivers about various issues:
- Ice on the road
- Snowy road
Over 130 million active users make Waze the perfect navigation tool
There is no doubt that Google Maps is a much more complete application designed to serve as an all-in-one tool for navigating and exploring any location. However, it still can't match Waze's level of information while driving.
Thanks to its more than 130 million monthly active users, each user will be provided with information on possible road incidents as well as traffic conditions.
To date, 25 reportable incidents were available. Among them are the presence of oil, animals, holes and vehicles standing on the road. All these warnings make you safer while driving and are warned in advance of possible hazards.
Another very popular feature among the Waze community is the warning about police presence on the road and speed cameras. As much as this feature frustrates the forces of authority, it has already saved millions of users from the Waze community.
