What to do in these situations

If you have any of these Apps installed on your phone, uninstall them right away. Then check your subscriptions in the "My Subscriptions" option on the Google Play Store to confirm if you have any subscriptions that were not made by you.

It is also recommended that you check the credit card statements you have associated with the Play Store. According to CSIS, this malware makes small payments periodically, thus stealing large sums from multiple users.

Fraudulent applications already have almost half a million downloads

However, Google has already removed these Apps from the Google Play Store. However, CSIS informs you that this malware has been active since June, automatically subscribing to any users who were unlucky enough to install apps on their device.

CSIS explains that Joker malware can create automatic interaction between you and the fraudulent subscription service. Even malware can extract the offer code from the site, collect the SMS confirmation sent to the user and complete the process.
