Escape Room VR, the best of both worlds
The escape rooms have become popular at a devilish pace. What a while ago for many people was a completely new and unknown concept is, today, a more than usual attraction to which to go and enjoy the weekends. The fact that you can also play in company makes it a fantastic plan to go with friends and teleport thus to other environments in which we acquire a new identity with a single mission: to solve the enigma imposed and to escape before time runs out.
Over time, this idea has added another ingredient: virtual reality. Although they are less frequent, there are also the so-called VR escape rooms, in which players use virtual reality glasses to move around other worlds where they all become virtual avatars. As we say it is a modality less seen but not for that reason, being already several rooms in UK that allow mixing the idea of the escape room with this technology.
And that’s exactly what Ubisoft is taking advantage of. The firm already has two adventures developed for rooms with VR support (The Lost Pyramid -video on these lines- and Beyond Medusa’s Gate, both based on Assassin’s Creed) to which now adds a new one that is sure to conquer everyone. The reason? Which is based on a mythical game, the Prince of Persia.
Escape Room VR from Prince of Persia
The developer Ubisoft has just announced the arrival to a good number of rooms of its new Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time. Is cooperative adventureset in the world of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time -from you have a special video below-, it is designed for two, three or four players who can team up to solve the puzzles and thus complete the mission with which to leave the Fortress of Time.
As the French firm has revealed through its announcement, in history the players are summoned by Kaileena, the Empress of Time, to stop a wizard’s plans who tries to return the sands to the hourglass of time and create an army of sand monsters. In order to escape the fortress successfully, even “special abilities” such as time control may be used.
Where and when to play Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time?
The launch of Prince of Persia: The Dagger of Time It is scheduled for spring this year, although the specific date has not been disclosed at the moment. The idea is to prepare a deployment in more than 300 VR escape rooms in the world, including, of course UK.
By consulting the adventure section on the official website of Ubisoft Escape Games it is possible to consult a map in which all locations appear. If you look at English territory, there are six rooms that appear already marked and therefore will release the adventure soon: in Barcelona (Virtua Barcelon), Valladolid (iVisual), Santiago de Compostela (Escape Secret Code), Valencia (Alfazone), Almeria (Virtua Experience) and Seville (VR escape).
By the way, Ubisoft has taken care to clarify that no need to have played the mythical saga (opened in the late 80s) to enjoy the new VR adventure.
