Tesla continues to grow globally, with more and more cars on the roads around the world. However, over the past few years, users have shown great frustration at the limited options for customizing the exterior of their cars.
For this reason, many ended up using private services to personalize their Teslas with wraps. Although users have requested a similar service officially offered by Tesla, Elon Musk’s company has never confirmed the possibility.
Now, through its official account on the Chinese social network Weibo, Tesla has revealed that it will start offering this service in its centers. No details have yet been revealed on the type of offer and price, being only guaranteed that for now, it will be exclusive to the Chinese market.
Elon Musk had already given indications that Tesla’s official “wraps” could be a reality
For now, only 5 districts in China will offer this service, and expansion to the rest of the country is already guaranteed during the month of August. Unfortunately, there is still no information to confirm a possible expansion to the remaining markets, but Elon Musk may have already left a clue that this will eventually happen.
When asked in April about possible color options for Cybertruck, Elon Musk said on Twitter that users would be able to put wraps the color they want.
Although this has not been a concrete confirmation that Tesla will be able to offer this type of service globally, with its recent implementation in China, it certainly has become a much more likely scenario.
The use of wraps in cars it is more and more popular, being a fantastic way to protect the original painting of the cars, as well as to give a personal touch to the car. However, it is a service that is usually not cheap. As the Electrek website points out, if Tesla globalizes this service, it will possibly be able to significantly lower the costs of its service.
