After a long wait, the Tesla Cybertruck performance caused a mix of excitement among fans of the Elon Musk company. There is no doubt that its design is at least peculiar, but it seems that after all it managed to win more fans than expected.
According to a tweet posted by Elon Musk, Tesla Cybertruck has received over 146,000 bookings. Considering this is a much more expensive and much more "specific" model, it was not far from the 232,000 reserves reached by Tesla Model 3 on its day of introduction.
However, it is important to note that while users needed to pay $ 1,000 to reserve Model 3, in the case of Tesla Cybertruck, they only requested a $ 100 deposit.
Tesla's cheapest model Cybertruck is clearly the least popular
Tesla Cybertruck will arrive with a base price of around 36,000 euros, but the more "modest" model seems to be the least able to win fans of the brand. Three variants were presented, one with a single engine, a second with a twin engine and a third much more attractive with a 'triple engine'.
According to Musk's tweet, so far 42% of reservations have been made for the two-engine variant, while 41% have preferred the more expensive model. Interestingly, the base model that would be the most 'affordable' has only 17% of reserves.
However, we must not forget that Tesla Cybertruck will only go into production at the end of 2021 in about two years. By then, it is expected that many of these users will eventually lose interest in this new Tesla model.
