Earlier this week, Telegram added several features to the application. In the latest beta version (6.3), the application is testing a familiar feature, found by XDA Developers. Chat Heads or “bubbles” will be part of the application. These are the balls with the conversation icon, available on Android.
This function was popularized by Facebook Messenger, where Chat Heads became an easy way to access conversations, without opening the app, keeping current activities in the background. Since Telegram is one of the largest communication apps, it is normal for them to implement this novelty.
So far, it appears that the function is only available on Android devices or higher. You should have the Telegram Beta version, where the experimental functions are present, for testing and feedback from users and programmers.
How to activate Chat Heads in Telegram Beta
If you are feeling adventurous and want to test this function. You must touch and hold the Telegram icon until you see the “shrug” emoji. As soon as it happens, you must touch and hold again to access the developer menu.
In this menu, there is a range of options. You must simply tap “enable chat bubbles” to activate the function. It is important to note that you will have to activate the “bubbles” option in the developer options of your Android smartphone.
However, the function is not working fully on some devices. According to XDA Developers, equipment like the Asus ROG Phone 3 and Google Pixel 4 are giving problems with the function.
