The newcomer to the UK’s market TCL is working on a different concept than usual. While Huawei, Samsung, Xiaomi and even Microsoft are introducing two-fold phones, TCL is raising the bar by two as this prototype folds into Z. Watch the video.
As you can see, this TCL phone is basically a sandwich with 3 phones. Its hinges allow you to fold it twice. When completely closed, we have access to a screen and the rear cameras.
When unfolded once, we have an expanded screen, similar to a tablet. Finally, if we fully deploy the equipment, we essentially have the space equivalent to 3 mobile phone screens.
It is a definitely interesting concept because as we can see in the video, the mobile phone can be adapted so that one of the screens is used as a keyboard, adding extra equipment productivity capabilities. No specifications were revealed except the 4 rear cameras and USB-C input.
Who is TCL?
In fact TCL has been operating in the European market and in UK for some time. However, you probably know them by another name: Alcatel. In 2004, Alcatel-Lucent and TCL joined in a business partnership. Just one year later, the partnership was broken and TCL bought Alcatel.
In UK, TCL began to launch equipment under its brand with the TCL Flex mobile phone and some televisions. In China the brand sells air conditioners, washing machines and other appliances. Needless to say, it is one of the competitors to Xiaomi in the home technology market.
