Sony’s new wireless headphones in sight, another rival for the AirPods Pro

The design of the Sony WF-1000 family of headphones has been somewhat particular since its inception. Models of somewhat large dimensions for which many expect from a product of this type, although far from the huge Bose QC Earbuds that if not for their sound quality and noise cancellation system would be difficult to recommend. But going back to Sony’s proposal, many have wished that the brand offered a more compact product that did not affect the user experience or the audio quality.

Comparing them to the current three generations, these new Sony WF-1000XM4 would have reduced their size substantially. At least they would be less wide, although this new model may remain practically identical in volume.

The new design is not that we can appreciate many details and there is no information about changes at the hardware level or other related improvements, but everything seems to indicate that we will have several external microphones that will help analyze the ambient noise to enhance and improve the experience with the noise cancellation system.

Also presumably Sony is going to keep the surface for touch controls. Something always useful, although it requires a bit of practice to know the different types of interaction available based on taps on the left or right earphone.

For example, comparing them with the case of the Jabra Elite 75T that still seems to us today one of the most comfortable that we have tried, they are lost.

Nothing is known about the rest of the features, only that it would repeat autonomy with 6 hours plus 18 extra thanks to the case and that we all hope that Sony will further improve its own audio quality, the cancellation system and even add support for technologies such as 360 audio or spatial sound. A characteristic that with the adoption of some platforms such as Netflix for headphones such as Apple’s AirPods Pro forces other brands that want to compete in the high-end to integrate.
