Nippon Sony's foray into the smartphone brand has had better days, and that's no secret to anyone. Still, the company does not seem to want to give up on this business and is developing new products. One of those that may come soon will be a new Xperia smartphone with OLED display.
So far the brand equipment has used LCD screens, but we know the difference in color saturation between these technologies. Rumors of Sony's migration from LCD screens to OLEDs are no longer new. These started about a year ago and were aiming for 2018 to bring us this remodeling.

For 2018, it is expected that the company will reveal to us a Xperia with a renewed design. Its characteristic OmniBalance seems to be to leave in the past in its next tops and following this change a new type of screen would be more than welcome.
We now have new information that adds further grounding to this technology migration. A new job posting from Sony requiring a display engineer was discovered, but not just any engineer.
A new Sony Xperia smartphone with OLED display will be at the door
The company specifies that it wants an engineer with experience in OLED displays. In fact, this is one of the key points in the evaluation of candidates for the vacancy. One of the main functions of the contractor will be the whole process of integrating this type of screens in a smartphone.
Note that the date of publication of this announcement is November 30, 2017 and is scheduled to go down on February 28, 2018. This may mean that it will not be in MWC this year that we will see a new Xperia with OLED screen .
This could be saved for Sony's second high-end this year, to be unveiled at the IFA in September. If this happens, this could be one of Nippon's strengths in trying to justify the market launching a new high-end in the same year.
For now we are only in the realm of speculation, but this announcement is a great indication of a change in the screens used by Sony. A change that, along with a design overhaul, could appeal to many of the company's fans who have been saddened by the latest policies adopted.
