It's been a long time since a high-end smartphone a year is no longer enough for major manufacturers. Currently, Huawei, Samsung and OnePlus, are some of which already do. Now it looks like Sony is getting ready to join the group.
According to new information, it seems that the Japanese manufacturer could launch its second high-end smartphone of the year during IFA 2019 in Berlin.
I recall that the Sony Xperia 1 was unveiled during MWC 2019 in February, trying to stand out from the competition by presenting a very unique format screen (21: 9).
Alleged Sony Xperia 2 Specifications
This is not the first time we have heard of Xperia 2, as in March the same source – Sumahoinfo – revealed alleged specifications for the new high end.
Although recent information contradicts the screen resolution unveiled in March, the Japanese website points out that this information is often changed before smartphones are introduced.
- 6.2 "inch screen with 21: 9 aspect ratio
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Processor
- 6GB RAM (minimum)
- 128GB internal memory (minimum)
- Triple Rear Camera (details not yet known)
There is still a lot of important information to reveal, such as the specifications of your cameras. Certainly Sony will have some surprises in store in this segment, especially if it wants to be able to cope with the heavy competition from Chinese manufacturers.
At least two smartphones with 5G support will be presented
According to AndroPlus, Sony will present during IFA 2019 two new smartphones with support for 5G networks. So far, we know that both smartphones have code names Horus and Sphinx, both of which will have Samsung OLED panels (FHD or 4K).
