Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 865 this week. A few days after its revelation, this high-end SoC has already passed Geekbench's testing platform.
The results obtained in these tests are in line with what promised by Qualcomm and surpass the Android competition. As we can see, only the iPhone 11 Pro Max and its Apple A13 Bionic have surpassed the new North American SoC in multi-core.
The OnePlus 7T Pro we see in this table has the Snapdragon 855+ and the difference between them is considerable. With this in mind, we can say that the new Snapdragon 865 is here to dominate the market.
Snapdragon 865 Preliminary Tests Convince
It should be noted that these results are early and were probably made with a prototype designed for the occasion. It will be important to see how the Snapdragon 865 will behave in equipment ready to reach the users.
These tests may not give us very different numbers from those we see today. Still, the variation of scores should exist and we want to warn you about this right now.
In benchmark testing, there are many factors that influence the outcome. The combination of hardware and software is important to the bottom line. But tests are tests and daily use will not disappoint.
Snapdragon 865 Key Features Reflect in Camera
As we can see here, Snapdragon 865 is actually more powerful than Snapdragon 855, although its base components are not much different. The processor still has eight processing cores with frequencies ranging from 2.84GHz to 1.8GHz.
It is when we look at your Spectra 480 image processor that we see the big news. Thanks to this ISP, devices with Snapdragon 865 can use lenses up to 200MP. Additionally, there is the ability to record at 8K at 30fps or 960fps at 720p slow motion.
