Snapchat continues to fight the tide, working on implementing new features to keep captivating its users. Although it was one of the most popular social networks, it eventually lost most of its users to rivals such as Instagram.
According to a The Wall Street Journal publication, Snapchat is working hard to secure licenses that allow users to add music to their publications. It appears that Snap is in talks with Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group.
So far no agreement has been finalized. However, the same sources confirm that negotiations have intensified considerably over the past few weeks.
What can we expect when these licenses are granted?
As has happened on Facebook, Tik Tok and also Facebook, users will be able to integrate music into their publications. This was one of the latest additions to various social networks that allows users to make their posts even more interactive.
Once negotiations are complete, Snapchat users will integrate their favorite songs into their snaps. It is not yet known whether the social network will approach this new feature in an innovative way, or will only replicate what has already been implemented in Instagram.
With the growing popularity of Stories in various social networks, the implementation of new features has been one of the main focuses of companies. So it would not be surprising to see Snapchat also working on the development of news that may be released over the next few weeks.
