It was a week ago that we asked you about the best location for the front camera of a smartphone. The result is here and with more than 300 votes we can say that the choice is unanimous.
More than 50% by users (EBox readers in this case) prefer to have a pop-up camera identical to the Xiaomi Mi 9T or OnePlus 7T instead of a hole in the screen.
Results of polling the front camera on a smartphone
As we can see, the possibilities were many. We have “notches”, “drops of water” or even the slider identical to the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. We wanted to have a wide solution of possibilities so that there was no doubt in the choice.
Hole in the smartphone screen is the second most popular choice
Still, it is worth noting that the “hole in the screen” is the second option. However, that hole must be in the center of the smartphone screen. As we understand it, users prefer this location to any other corner of the smartphone.
When we will have an invisible camera and “inside” the screen
Vivo has already presented its first smartphone with this technology. Although acclaimed as a “concept”, it is not the first time that we will have to wait a few months for Vivo to make a “concept” a reality.
So it happened with the first Pop-up camera. Technology initially introduced by Vivo and now widely spread by more manufacturers.
If you have to make a guess (and note that it is a guess), I believe that this type of technology will reach users of the future Vivo smartphone this year and more manufacturers this year.
As technology is evolving, I believe that the next tops of the range may already offer it. That is, the terminals that will be officially revealed in 2021.
