Google Home and Alexa are the most popular virtual assistants for our smart home. Although UK is not a point of interest for Google and Amazon, we have seen an increase in interest in this segment.
We had that feeling in one of our EBox podcasts. When it came to smart homes and the feedback was incredible. Well, we decided to ask our readers if they intend to buy (or already have) a Google Home and Alexa. The responses were very interesting.
Google Home and Alexa will grow in UK
In the poll more than 500 people voted and we can see that the answer is quite interesting. About 41% already have a voice assistant at home.
However, the most interesting thing was to see that 46% of respondents intend to buy one of these soon. About 13% decided that they don’t want any of these “modernities”. Only 1% have such a gadget and do not use them.
Google Home and Alexa bring a smart home to life
It is true that in most cases (to get the most out of assistants) you will need to speak in English, Spanish or French with the voice assistants. UK’s is improving at Google, but far from the best solution. In fact, until today I can’t put UK’s (UK) on Google Home.
Since I’ve been using Google Home for a few years now, it’s been fantastic to see its evolution. It started off as a funny gadget to control lights and ask nonsensical questions. Nowadays he is my home controller. Since “reproduces the series I was watching in the kitchen on Netflix on the TV in the living room”.
Or else I wake up with the lights on and music all over the house. Of course, for that you will need to create an ecosystem of smart products. As more and more manufacturers are working on this type of gadgets, the price (finally) starts to become more affordable. An example of this is the smart lamps that are sold at IKEA.
