It was in 2017 that the South Korean company made us know about Samsung DeX. It's an accessory that, when coupled with a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S9, gives us a near PC experience. After smartphones, it will soon be time for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 to have the same capacity.
The mobile devices we have known over the last few years are becoming more capable. Your hardware can already handle very demanding tasks, in some cases even being able to replace a computer.

However, there are some tasks that cannot be matched even by the size of the screens. This is where Samsung DeX comes in. This accessory allows the connection of a monitor, screen and keyboard precisely to try to narrow this distance.
Of course, you will still be limited to the hardware of your smartphone and its ecosystem. The operating system will remain Android, however, on a larger screen.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 Will Work as Second Screen with Samsung DeX
But speaking of Android on a larger screen, we need to bring the next Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 to the subject. This will be the next tablet of the South Korean company, supposed to be unveiled during the Galaxy Note 9.
It seems that this Galaxy Tab S4 will be a real flagship. GFXBench has already shown us that this tablet will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. Although unveiled at the end of 2016, it is still a high-end SoC still quite capable.
We will still have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Your screen will be 8 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. Also expected is an 8MP front camera and a 12MP rear camera.
Still, the main novelty of the new Galaxy Tab S4 will be its compatibility with Samsung DeX. This information is advanced by SamMobile, publication strongly linked to the designs of the South Korean company.
According to the source, this Tab S4, when coupled with DeX, will function as a secondary display. Something that makes sense due to its 8 inch dimension. However, no details on its operation have been provided.
If this is confirmed, we will have here the first tablet to be compatible with DeX. This raises yet another issue related to the size of both devices.
Note that DeX on the market were built to work with smartphones. Devices naturally smaller than a tablet. Will they still be compatible with the new Tab S4 or will the company also unveil a new DeX?
