The Samsung Galaxy S7 was introduced by the South Korean giant in February 2016 and has since become one of the best iterations of this manufacturer’s high-end smartphones. Now, more than four years after its launch, they still live!
Although they officially stopped receiving updates in April 2020, apparently the market leader stepped back from the decision and decided to update the equipment duo. Indeed, users are already receiving a security update.
There is a new update coming to the Samsung Galaxy S7
We are facing an update of the patch security with the September build, a considerable update from the previous patch March. For users of Samsung Galaxy S7 the changes will not be visible.
We are facing a small software update, about 70 mb, a tiny package with fixes and security improvements. Note that the update also includes stability improvements, performance optimization and some bug or error fixes.
More specifically, we have the firmware G930W8VLS8CTI1 for Samsung Galaxy S7 and the build G935W8VLS8CTI1 for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Both compilations started to be distributed today by the South Korean manufacturer.
The update is already reaching users
To update the Samsung Galaxy S7 we can wait for the notification in the top bar, or look for its availability from the settings. In any case, its distribution is being done gradually and in stages.
These security updates, although minor, help to extend the life of mobile devices and are an excellent practice on the part of the respective manufacturers.
