Samsung has just registered the name Samsung Vizion. This name will be adapted to its new ToF (Time of Flight) sensor for the camera of the Samsung Galaxy S30 (S21).
Samsung introduced a ToF sensor in the Galaxy S20 Ultra, however, we did not see this technology in the Note 20. This is because, according to the information, the quality of the sensor was not better. So, in Note 20 Ultra we have an autofocus laser.
What is the ToF sensor for smartphones for?
Huawei was one of the first to introduce the ToF sensor. The purpose of this sensor is to measure the distance between the camera of the object being photographed in a more concrete way.
In this way, it is able to offer an improved effect in photographs as in “portrait mode”. In addition, this sensor offers more quality for Augmented Reality.
Samsung Galaxy S30 with a ToF sensor
It is still uncertain what will arrive in the Samsung Galaxy S30, however, the registration of the Samsung Vizion name arrives just in time for the sensor to be implemented in the next top of the range.
One thing is certain, if Samsung registered the name it is because the technology is ready to be used and we do not see a better device than the next top of the range for this to happen.
In summary, the information on the Samsung Galaxy S30 is still scarce. We have an idea that the Ultra model will have a smaller battery. However, it is expected that the new processor from Qualcomm and Samsung, will offer us a better quality of performance and efficiency. That is, a smaller battery may not mean a worse autonomy.
Over the next few months, the information on the Samsung Galaxy S30 is guaranteed to intensify. If you want to be aware of all the details you just have to stay tuned to EBox.
