Samsung's folding smartphone was announced at the South Korean giant's conference on February 20. It was believable that the Galaxy Fold would go on sale during the month of April. However, it only arrives in Europe on 3 May. And UK is not in the list of countries.
After so much anticipation, it is with disappointment that we discover that UK is not on the list of 15 countries in which Galaxy Fold will go on sale. The United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Romania are covered.
In these countries consumers will be able to pre-order the device from April 26th. Pre-registration has now opened for anyone who wants to know more information. Who in UK wanted to buy a Galaxy Fold, can not do so officially.
Galaxy Fold is the first folding smartphone to reach Europe
2000 euros is how many consumers will have to pay to carry the Galaxy Fold in their pocket. This will be the first folding smartphone to reach the European market and Samsung was "enthusiastic" in a statement. The Huawei Mate X should follow in its footsteps soon.
It is expected that the availability of this device will be limited. In fact, the production should be limited to 100 thousand units per month. Well below the 3 million Galaxy S10 that are produced per month. Since this will not be a bestseller, Samsung understands the strategy.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold is a 7.3 inch (unfolded) smartphone on an AMOLED screen. It comes equipped with Snapdragon 855 and 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. However, if you want to carry one in your pocket you will have to go to Badajoz and you can still bring some caramels as a bonus.
