Rumors about the end of the partnership between Huawei and Leica are a lie!

Since 2016, with the launch of the Huawei P9, Huawei and Leica have enjoyed the great fruits of their partnership. Since then, the manufacturer has remained a benchmark with regard to the quality of photography on smartphones, continuing a tremendous innovation year after year.

This is one of the most successful partnerships in the world of smartphones, leading the rumors that indicated the end of this relationship to cause immediate controversy. The information was advanced by the renowned leaker Digital Chat Station on the social network Weibo.

Huawei Leica Weibo

Although he did not provide evidence to support his claims, the leaker said that Leica would have already been contacted by other Chinese manufacturers. As expected, Huawei wasted no time in intervening.

Huawei categorically denies rumors that point to the end of the partnership with Leica

Although they have not yet published any official comments through their social networks or blog, the Android Authority website claims to have managed to contact Huawei on the matter, having been classified as “totally false news”.

On the other hand, when contacting Leica, the representative took a slightly more “soft” approach, revealing that they have no information about the end of the partnership. With this response, he ended up leaving a window open for rumors to continue to circulate.

As expected, the rumors ended up being immediately related to the many problems that Huawei faces with the restrictions imposed by the United States. However, there is no indication to confirm this possible correlation.

I recall that this partnership with Leica was largely responsible for Huawei’s giant leap, by revolutionizing the photographic capabilities of its smartphones since the Huawei P9. Being seen as the best devices for photography and at very affordable prices (at the time …), their success was inevitable.
