Today, through a digital presentation, Royole presented the FlexPai 2. The company claims that this version is equipped with a much more robust fold than in the previous model, in addition to having better image quality, in colors and contrast.
Royole calls “Cicada Wing Flexible Display” a screen that is only 1 millimeter thick, reducing 2 millimeters compared to the original FlexPai. Despite being thinner, Royole claims that the FlexPai 2 can withstand 200 thousand folds.
The secret may lie in the fold, which is made outwards and not inwards unlike the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Flip Z. It is also important to mention the Huawei Mate X and Mate Xs, which have folds outwards, although with thicker screens.

Royole closed partnership with ZTE
ZTE has launched foldables in the past, like the 2017 Axon M, although not with a flexible screen. Anyway, Royole also announced a partnership with the Chinese manufacturer, in the mobile phone department. Although ZTE does not have the success of Huawei or Xiaomi, it can be an important partnership for Royole and future equipment.
