The classic reinvented. In 2025 the Renault 4 will again step on the tarmac, this time with a soul and electric motorization, possibly with lines inspired by the original model, and certainly to reinforce the French manufacturer’s electric vehicle portfolio.

It is also expected that, alongside the Renault 4, the Frenchman will also present the Renault 5 Hatchback, with a sportier spirit. The first prototype has been discussed in several specialty media, which point to the beginning of sales from this model to 2023.

The general understanding estimates that the French manufacturer will put up to seven new electric vehicles on the roads over the next four years. Among these, four will be electric cars for the general public and three will be commercial vehicles.

It should be noted that so far only the Renault 5 has been confirmed and officially presented by the brand. However, the company’s management points out that “there is at least one more revival” to be planned and, according to close sources, it will be the Renault 4.

Indeed, the rumors that suggest the return of the mythical 4L are diverse and point to the company’s internal conversations and plans, still outside the public domain. According to these rumors, the electric car arrives until 2025 to join its ranks.

The new Renaul 4 will be an electric car prepared for the future

The original model of the Renault 4 was in production from 1961 to 1994. During this time, more than 8 million copies of the robust, cheap, reliable and versatile car were produced, being particularly appreciated in the rural regions of France and UK.

The reinvention of this model should maintain the classic lines and the compact format, asserting itself as city and utilitarian. You may, however, approach a small crossover, which would also diversify the brand’s electric car portfolio.

So we have the Renault 5 model, a sportier hatchback for 2023 and the Renault 4, more focused on design and urban travel for 2025.

In the meantime, we will still have the new electric Megane in 2022, the first of three new vehicles of its kind to be launched. It will be called Mégane eVision and will maintain the CMF-EV platform. Information already confirmed by Luca de Meo, Renault’s strongman.

The coming years will be of electrical transformation for this European manufacturer.
