This Thursday the Xiaomi sub-brand took the stage to reveal its new Redmi Note 9 with support for 5G in China. As promised, it also launched what is its first smartwatch in its own name: the Redmi Watch.
It is a product wearable for those who just want the basics, and was launched in the country of origin for the equivalent of € 38. The square design was reminiscent of products like the Amazfit Bip or even the Apple Watch.
The Redmi Watch will be hitting the market with a 1.4 inch screen with 323 pixels per inch. It has a button on the right side for navigation, and weighs only 35 grams.

In the sports field, you can count on 7 exercises available on the watch itself. In addition, it has 5ATM water resistance (up to 50 meters), so you don’t have problems with swimming. As you would expect, you can monitor your heart rate or sleep without any problems. It is also possible to do breathing exercises.
Sports available on Redmi Watch
- Running
- Indoor race
- Cycling
- Indoor cycling
- walking
- Swimming
- Free exercise
The battery of the Redmi Watch is far from the numbers we saw on models like the Amazfit Bip. Still, 7 days of regular use are promised, which will rise to 12 days if you resign yourself to the most basic features.
It is worth mentioning that Redmi Watch has Xiaomi’s virtual assistant, something that will be reserved for the Chinese market. It also has NFC, which is unlikely to exist in a global version.
Redmi Watch price and availability
The Redmi Watch will go on sale in China starting this Thursday for the aforementioned € 38 (€ 34 launch price). We should soon find it in the usual online stores, and details about an official global launch have not been revealed. Rumors suggest that it will be called Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite globally.
