The Xiaomi subsidiary recently unveiled its latest smartphone of 2019, the Redmi K30. Over the weeks leading up to the event, it was confirmed on several occasions that this smartphone would arrive with a single hole in the screen where the two front cameras would be integrated.
During the presentation event, this design detail was confirmed by the manufacturer. To our surprise, however, new information reveals that the Redmi K30 has two holes in its LCD panel after all, and the space between them is being "hidden" by the software.
Software option lets you reveal both holes on the Redmi K30's screen
The recognized leaker @UniverseIce posted two photos on Twitter where we can see the customization settings of the Redmi K30. In these images we see the smartphone with the "original" punch hole which encompasses both sensors and in the second image the two holes are revealed.
Apparently, in the smartphone settings you will be able to choose between 4 visuals for the notification bar of your Xiaomi Redmi K30. The first shows the icons next to the capsule-shaped "hole", followed by a more traditional notification bar and a third option where a "virtual" margin is simulated.
The last option should give the user the option to disable any kind of software customization, finally revealing the two holes on the screen.
Although it is not a revelation that should change the way the smartphone is received by users. It is really strange that the manufacturer did not mention this detail during its presentation.
Moreover, in all smartphone promotion materials, this is presented with the punch hole in capsule form and never with the two holes we see now.
