Qualcomm today presented its new processors for mid-range smartphones and among them is the highly desired Snapdragon 720G. This chip aims to reduce the differences between mid-range and top-of-the-range offerings, ensuring high-level performance while maintaining an affordable price.
Shortly after his presentation, Madhav Sheth – CEO of Realme – rushed to reveal to his fans that the brand will be among the first to use the new processor on their smartphones. Unfortunately, no clue has been revealed as to what may be the first smartphone to arrive with the Snapdragon 720G.
Qualcomm’s new processor arrives with great focus on the gaming segment
As with the recent MediaTek processors, Qualcomm also decided to use the letter “G” in the nomenclature of its processors to identify those intended for high gaming performance. This is the case with the new Qualcomm Snapndragon 720G, coming with several features related to gaming performance.
On this chip, all Snapdragon Elite Gaming features have been integrated and it has also been designed to support the playback of HDR content during gaming sessions. In addition, it will also feature above-average color reproduction, as well as impressive sound reproduction thanks to Qualcomm aptX Adaptive technology.
After MediaTek launched the Helio G90 processor as the first developed exclusively for the gaming world, it seems that Qualcomm has finally decided to respond to its rival’s offer.
Although there is no concrete information about what will be the first smartphone to arrive equipped with the new processor, it is likely that this will happen during the first quarter of this year. Therefore, it is expected that more information will begin to circulate over the next few days.
In addition to the Snapdragon 720G, Qualcomm also introduced the new Snapdragon 460 and Snapdragon 662 processors.
