Razer has just presented its new webcam, the Razer Kyio Pro. Aimed at gaming and teleworking, this dual personality camera has top features and an equally price premium. Are € 209.99 in stores in UK.
The webcam claims to have the best image quality in any lighting conditions. In fact, Razer goes so far as to state that the new webcam offers studio-quality quality for professional-level videoconferencing. We will have to confirm it.
Razer announced its new webcam. Here’s Kiyo Pro
The company dedicated to the gaming world today announced (23) the Razer Kiyo Pro. It is a USB camera with a high performance Adaptive Light sensor for greater image fidelity, even in low light conditions.
The webcam combines a CMOS sensor ultra-sensitive with the company’s STARVIS technology. In this way, the Kiyo Pro camera puts image quality called professional level at the disposal of videoconferences and streaming.
The new product has a circular design and abandons the LED lighting ring present in the previous generation. It has a more solid body and several mounting options, either on the top edge of the monitor, or through the tripod thread.
For stream or for teleworking, Kiyo is Razer’s new bet
The gaming brand recognizes that telecommuting is now a big part of professional life and, as such, the demand for better image quality in video calls is greater than ever. This was the motto for the presentation of the new webcam.
Recognizing that the built-in laptop cameras have no resolution nor sufficient update rates for professional-looking videoconferences. Also touching on the fact that most webcams have difficulty dealing with non-ideal lighting conditions, resulting in poor and blurred video quality that can negatively affect professional presentations, the reason for creating and presenting the new Razer Kiyo Pro has thus emerged.
Kiyo Pro solves these problems with a high-performance Adaptive Light Sensor, providing a better image whatever the lighting conditions. This is the premise of the new webcam. Image excellence.
For telecommuting conferences, or for gaming with high image quality
“In video conferencing and streaming, delivering crystal-clear video quality regardless of lighting conditions is a crucial part of the experience,” said Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President, Razer’s peripherals business unit. “Kiyo Pro, with its fantastic low-light performance, is ideal for those who work at home and want to impress their customers and colleagues, and for streamers who want to entertain their audience with a bright and vibrant image.”
The secret to a faithful image
At the heart of the new Kiyo Pro is the advanced CMOS 1 / 2.8 sensor with STARVIS technology. This pixel lighting technology, used in CMOS sensors of surveillance cameras to create higher quality images in the visible and near infrared light spectrum.
The Kiyo Pro is capable of FullHD 1080p at 60 FPS without compression, for greater fidelity and image details. HDR at 30FPS expands the dynamic range, correcting under- or over-exposed areas, eliminating the silhouette effect when the main subject is lit from behind. It promises vibrant colors and uniform lighting throughout the image.
The Kiyo Pro wide-angle lens offers three field of view options: 103 °, 90 ° and 80 °, making it suitable for videoconferences or live broadcasts.
