Razer made known the Razer Huntsman V2 Analog. It is a “new” keyboard with many features, equipped with Analog Optical Switches, being Razer’s biggest innovation in terms of switches.
Thus, with the introduction of the analog input, movements with all precision in any direction are finally available on PC without using a command. Gamers are now unlocking the ability to completely adjust each click to the millimeter.
The amazing new Razer Huntsman V2 Analog keyboard
The Razer Optical Analog Switch is not only a technological innovation in keyboard switches, it is also the secret to unlock an incomparable gaming experience. This exclusive innovation combines three components: analog input, adjustable actuation and two-stroke actuation.
The analog input emulates an analog joystick input for more control and more nuance when recording movements. This eliminates the limitations for 8-way movements using only the WASD keys and allows true 360-degree movements that are so beneficial in games traditionally optimized for commands, such as third-person games, multiplatform shooting games, racing games and simulators.
Players can also fine tune and adjust the actuation point of each key to suit any style of play; from a fast acting at 1.5 mm, ideal for fast-paced games to a full travel performance of 3.6 mm, for deep and deliberate clicks.
With the possibility of two-stroke actuation, a click can activate two functions programmed at two different actuation points. Essentially this allows double the functionality for each click and is suitable for activating more advanced combinations in games – such as selecting the grenade and throwing it in one click.
The “secret” of the Huntsman V2 Analog is the switches
Inspired by the acclaimed Razer Optical Switches, Analog Optical Switches also use the speed of light to record each click. Razer Optical Analog Switches track the amount of light that passes through the switch and allow the keyboard to measure exactly how far each key is pressed.
And, unlike traditional mechanical switches, this method requires fewer moving parts and no metallic contact – just light. Without any physical contact that degrades with time and use, these switches can easily last up to 100 million clicks.
At the request of the community, double layer PBT keys were chosen to give a sturdy and textured finish, and also a lower key line with standard dimensions to allow for further customization.
Razer uses a two-layer plastic molding process to create a more durable keyboard compared to traditional ABS plastic used on most keyboards.
These double layer PBT keys will also be available in several regional layouts, including from the UK, German, French, Nordic, Russian, Spanish and Japanese. Razer also offers the possibility of further customization through PBT Key Sets sold separately in Classic Black, Quartz Pink, Mercury White and Razer Green versions.
The new Huntsman V2 Analog keyboard also features improved connectivity. In order to provide more versatility and convenience, the keyboard is powered by a single twisted cable, with a second cable that allows the passage of a USB 3.0 connection.
Users also have the option to choose between a USB Type-C or USB 3.0 Type-A connection with an included adapter.
