Kalos was revealed but so much more remains to be seen! There are new Trainers, new techniques, and the awe-inspiring Xerneass and Yveltal awaiting you. Something…different. Something that will make even the most potent Pokemon-EX shake their heads! Mega Evolution is the beginning of a new age in the Pokemon TCG!
XY is the first significant expansion in the XY Series of Pokemon Trading Card Game. It was initially released in Japan as the Collection X/Collection Y dual expansions, which make up the first block of the Pokemon Card Game XY Era. It is based upon Pokemon X and Y and features Generation VI Pokemon and the Legendary Pokemon Xerneas, Yveltal and Xerneas. The English expansion was published on February 5, 2014, and the Japanese expansion was launched on December 13, 2013.
M Pokemon-EX was introduced by XY, a variation of the Pokemon EX. M Pokemon-EX is a Mega Evolved Pokemon, a new feature in Pokemon XY and Y. Pokemon-EX, unlike the core series games. However, a player's turn ends once it becomes a Mega Evolution Pokemon. M Pokemon-EX only has one attack, and the name of the Pokemon was included in the artwork. Japanese and Korean prints had English text, and international prints had Japanese text. Fairy types were also introduced.
This pack is the first to change the TCG's age requirement from 10+ to 6+. Mega Evolution is coming to the new Pokemon TCG: XY expansion. Mega Evolution Pokemon evolve from Pokemon-EX cards that are extremely powerful in their own right. This will create a force that will revolutionize the way Pokemon TCG players construct decks and plan for battle.
Players must carefully consider the situation before they play a Mega Evolution Pokemon to develop a Pokemon-EX. Doing so immediately ends their turn, meaning they can't attack the next turn. Mega Evolution Pokemon have greater strength than Pokemon-EX, so it's worth taking the risk. Mega Evolution Pokemon are dominant in Pokemon TCG matches because of their hard-hitting attacks, high HP totals, and strong defence.
