Ultra Prism is the sixth central expansion in the Sun & Moon Series. It was initially released in Japan as the Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon dual expansions, which make up the fifth block of the Pokemon Card Game Sun & Moon Era. It is based on Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. It features Generation VII Pokemon, the Sinnoh area, and the Prism Pokemon Necrozma in its Dawn Wings Necrozma and Dusk Mane Necrozma forms. The English and Japanese expansions were released on February 2, 2018, while the Japanese ones were released on December 8, 2017.
Ultra Prism introduced Prism Star cards, a new card classification. The Prism Star cards consisted of stronger Basic Pokemon, Trainer cards and Energy cards. Players could only have one card in each deck. They feature a black border with rainbow tinges and an artwork window. The Prism Star symbol was also displayed in the background of the card text. Below the artwork was the Prism Star rule box. Prism Star cards were reintroduced to the Lost Zone. Fossil Pokemon were returned to their original mechanic of evolving using a shared trainer card.

These Prism Star cards can be so powerful that only one can be in your deck. To ensure you don't lose them, they are sent to the Lost Zone and not to the discard pile. The Sun & Moon Ultra Prism expansion can be found in booster packs, special collections, and theme decks.
The Pokemon TCG Sun & Moon-Ultra Prism expansion contains:

- 18 trainer cards and three special energy cards
When the expansion launches, the complete Sun & Moon-Ultra Prism expansion will be available for play in the Pokemon TCG Online.
