Evolutions are the name of the fifth and final major expansion in the XY BREAK Series for the Pokemon Trading Card Game. It was released in Japan as Expansion Pack for 20th Anniversary. This is the sixth and final subset of the Pokemon Card Game XY BREAK Era. It's based on Pokemon Red and Blue with Generation I Pokemon. The English expansion was released on November 2, 2016, while the Japanese subset of the game was released on September 16, 2016. Evolutions were released in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Pokemon.
Evolutions featured reprints from cards from Base Set. However, most of the card layout was retained. The current card layout included the Pokedex number and Weakness, Resistance, and Retreat costs and their respective areas. The Pokemon's HP and Abilities, attacks, and Resistance and Retreat costs were changed to fit the new format. The card border was gold, and Pokemon-EX were stylized with a similar design.
