There's a remote island with mysterious crystals and unique Pokemon waiting for you to find them. EX Crystal Guardians will take you to distant shores, where new Pokemon Delta Species and Pokemon-ex live in stunning crystals that can alter how Trainers fight. Are you ready to travel to the island and capture your favourite Crystal Guardians?
EX Crystal Guardians are the name for the fourteenth expansion in the EX Series of Pokemon Trading Card Game. It was initially released in Japan as Miracle Crystal, the eighth expansion of the Pokemon Card Game PCG Era. This set includes Generation III Pokemon. The English expansion was published on August 30, 2006, and the Japanese expansion was published on March 10, 2006.
The expansion was made on a mysterious island far away from Holon. This is where Pokemon (both regular and Delta Species) live harmoniously. If used correctly, the island is also home to naturally-growing crystals that are said to give special powers. Join us for an exploration of EX Crystal Guardians.
We will travel further from Holon to search for new Pokemon Delta Species. Holon's deep forest has been abandoned by trainers and explorers travelling across the ocean searching for new knowledge and discoveries. What were they able to find on the beaches of the nearby islands?
Blastoise (9/100 & 9/100) appears twice in this expansion. Once as a Water-type that deals damage with Hydro Pump and once as a powerful Pokemon Delta Species. In its Fighting/Metal version, Blastoise combines strong attacks with its Poke-Body Shield Veil that removes Weaknesses from your Pokemon. Ludicolo (6/100) is also a Pokemon Delta Species. However, it's a Fire-type Pokemon powerhouse that can be faced with any Pokemon who has a Pokemon as an ally.
Fearow (18/100) and Pelipper (26-21/100) make Delta Species decks stronger and easier to use and add unique Poke-Powers. Fearow is an excellent Stage 1 Pokemon. Delta Sign Poke-Power allows you to search your deck for any Pokemon Delta Species you may need (even if it's only once per turn). We next cut Pelipper loose. Delta Transport Poke-Power lets you swap 1 of your Active Pokemon with any other Pokemon on your Bench that is a Delta Species. This ability allows you to defend against Special Conditions or attack the enemy with an offensive move that lets you catch the right Pokemon at the right moment.
These crystals can bring many exciting and unusual abilities to your game. Cessation Crystal (74/100) is these crystals' first and most important. It offers an ability Trainers look for when building decks. Attach this Pokemon Tool to an Active Pokemon, and both players can use Poke-Powers and Poke-Bodies. Holon Circle (79/100) offers another level of control. The Stadium card stops anyone from attacking. It's not difficult to remove, but anyone who wants to (you or your opponent) must give up their attack. The Pokemon Tool Mysterious Shard (81/100), which protects against attacks by Pokemon-ex, is also available.
Unless you're playing against them! It is okay to have Sceptile (96/100) in play. It stops Poke-Powers from Pokemon-ex and makes it more costly for all Pokemon to attack. However, Jirachi ex (94/100) is the opposite direction, and its attacks become less expensive if your opponent has powerful Pokemon. Let's take a final look at the vast amount of Pokemon-ex this expansion has with Shiftry Ex (97/100 )…) which damages your opponent's Pokemon every time they use a Poke-Power. Players who discover EX Crystal Guardians will find great new strategies to add to their games.
