LetsGo Digital has published 3D renders of the possible design of the Oppo smartwatch, which will be the first wearable of the Chinese brand. The smartwatch will have electrocardiogram (ECG) and call functions, directly on the watch.
When looking at the renders of the watch, we can see a very premium construction with a metal / aluminum body and the glass dial. The bracelets appear to be made of rubber, but there may be a leather option, possibly.
On the right side, you can discern two large buttons, with what appears to be a microphone in the middle. One of the buttons has a green strip, which can serve as a notification LED, although this design option seems a bit unnecessary.
This Oppo smartwatch will be presented during the first quarter of 2020, that is, probably in March. Therefore, it is not long before the Chinese manufacturer officially enters the smart watch market.
Will it be a possible competitor to the Apple Watch?
It is impossible to look at this watch and not think about the Apple Watch. The round lines, buttons and all its design language bring inspirations from apple watches. As Xiaomi did with the Mi Watch, Oppo seems to want to win over consumers with a familiar design.
However, Oppo’s smartwatch should be cheaper than Apple’s, considering that we are talking about the Chinese market, where the quality and price ratio is highly valued. The fact that the watch has the ECG function is yet another indication that Oppo wants to compete with the best in the market, Apple Watch and direct competitors Huawei Watch GT 2 and Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2.
