Qualcomm presented its next top-of-the-range processor, Snapdragon 888. yesterday during its annual Tech Summit 2020 event. As you would expect, many manufacturers have confirmed the use of SD888 in their next smartphones, with Xiaomi winning again featured on the main stage of the event.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 was confirmed as one of the first smartphones to arrive equipped with this new processor, having the confirmation made directly from the stage of the event. However, its rival OPPO decided not to be left behind, confirming that OPPO Find X3 will be the first to arrive with the SD888 and will be launched during the first quarter of 2021.
OPPO could become one of Xiaomi’s main rivals in Europe
It is true that OPPO is still at an early stage of its expansion into Europe, but the results presented this year are truly impressive. The manufacturer has increasingly invested in the launch of new models in UK, as well as in the exhibition that it receives in the various media.
Despite also having a strong rival at Realme, OPPO is a manufacturer with much more experience in the market and also a bigger name. Therefore, with its focus on the various European markets, it would not be surprising if it managed to present itself as a serious rival to Xiaomi in 2021.
For this, the brand needs to be able to bet strongly in all market segments, with the launch of several mid-range smartphones and at least a strong top-of-the-range smartphone.
Apparently, the bet on the high-end segment will be made with the OPPO Find X3, which will arrive equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor.
