As promised, it was finally introduced to OnePlus TV. At an event held in India, OnePlus officially unveiled its first Smart TV to hit the market with Android TV and a soundbar that hides when you turn off the television.
With a minimalist design, the OnePlus TV comes with a 55 inch QLED panel. Its 4K panel brings support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 + so you get the best possible picture quality.
Sound is one of the highlights of this television. At 50 watts, it features eight speakers that promise a “surreal surround sound experience” through Dolby Atmos support.
These eight speakers are housed in their soundbar, which drops from the bottom of the TV when it is in use. When you turn off the television, the soundbar will be hidden behind it.
OnePlus guarantees three years of updates on Android TV
As had already been announced, OnePlus TV is powered by Google's Android TV and is promised three years of upgrades. Although good, it is little for the theoretical longevity that a television has in our homes.
It is compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa
This is compatible with both Google Assistant and Alexa. As shown, you can turn on your TV or make other voice commands using these virtual assistants.
Its command is simple and with few buttons, but the brand has chosen to highlight the OnePlus Connect app. With this you will be able to control almost everything from your TV through the smartphone.
OnePlus TV sound low if you get a call on your smartphone
As expected, one of the most interesting features is that the television's sound will drop if you receive a call. You can have the TV up to 10% as soon as your phone starts ringing.
Pricing and Availability
Two variants were announced: OnePlus TV 55 Q1 and OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro. The biggest difference is the existence of soundbar retractable on the Pro model. For now OnePlus will only launch this Smart TV in India, starting its sale on Amazon from the country already on September 28
- OnePlus TV 55 Q1 – 69,900 Indian Rupees (897 euros)
- OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro – 99,900 Indian Rupees (1282 euros)
We must bear in mind that these are prices for the Indian market. Inflation will push the price of this Smart TV up, and we are waiting for confirmation of its possible launch on the European market at the global event on October 10th.
