OnePlus hosted this Thursday (26) an event in India. Here we get to know the first Smart TV from the manufacturer, but also the new smartphone: the OnePlus 7T. The biggest surprise was even the unexpected announcement of its own payment system.
The news came from Szymon Kopec, the brand's director of software. It will be called OnePlus Pay, and besides the name has just been announced it will be released "sometime next year".
OnePlus Pay arrives in 2020
The ad sounded like a teaser for what's next. “There is a fantastic product that we have been working on for the last year. I couldn't be more excited to reveal that starting next year they won't need your wallet anymore, ”said Kopec before announcing OnePlus Pay.
Given that this was an event in India, it was unclear if this will be a global product. However, OnePlus was not available to clarify these details.
There is a possibility that this is only a service available in India. In the country, mobile payment systems are very popular, so OnePlus wants to join the “party” as soon as possible.
We will have to wait for “sometime next year” to know what this service might bring again, and if it will come to Europe. Unsure, the service is unlikely to be announced before OnePlus 8 is released.
