OnePlus is poised to take a new leap in the smoothness with which you navigate your screens. As announced last week, the company will be betting on 120Hz refresh rate displays in its next high-end.
This Wednesday, OnePlus CEO shared a video on Twitter where a 60Hz screen is put into action against one of 120Hz. As you will see from video, the smoothness of the 120Hz screen experience is incredibly higher.
This is the kind of feature that is difficult to capture on camera at normal speed. However, when you slow down the video, you can clearly tell the difference in usage.
OnePlus 8 Pro should combine 2K screen with 120Hz refresh rate
At this time it is not known on which devices OnePlus will implement the 120Hz. OnePlus 8 Pro will definitely have the functionality, and it is likely to be able to reach OnePlus 8, but only with FullHD + resolution. The OnePlus Lite should be around 90Hz.
Remember that OnePlus 8 Pro must combine 120Hz with WQHD + (2K) resolution. It is rumored that the Samsung Galaxy S20 will also offer this refresh rate, but limiting it to FullHD +.
OnePlus was not the first in the market to bet on 90Hz nor will it be the first to bet on 120Hz. But it was one of the companies that pushed for this refresh rate increase to be implemented by more brands, and seems to continue to do so.
