It's time to update yours OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T with the latest version of OxygenOS, OxygenOS 5.1.2. Based on Google's Android Oreo 8.1 operating system, (incremental) news is now reaching both tops of 2017.
Through its official forum, China has announced the start of distribution of a new version of its user interface, OxygenOS 5.1.2. Note that it will be a major upgrade to the Android system, weighing over 1.6GB. That said, we recommend that you download the news over a Wi-Fi connection.

Indeed, for both OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T several incremental updates arrive, as well as the latest security fix. That is, we have here right away the patch May 2018 Security. This fixes the vulnerabilities detected by Google engineers on the Android system.
After a similar update has arrived at OP3 and OP3T, as we reported here at EBox, it is time for the latest devices to be updated. In addition to security enhancement here are several enhancements and bug fixes for both terminals.
OxygenOS 5.1.2 Reaches OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T
More specifically, we have corrected the instability of the automatic screen rotation mechanism. Between Portrait mode and Panorama mode, this bug was causing some irritation to users. Moreover, we have the introduction of a new method to lock the screen, the Double Tap (double tap) to sleep / suspend the smartphone. While both terminals already had the double ring to wake up the smartphone, they lacked the inverse function, the double ring to put it to sleep.

We can see here the record of the changes, the changelog, being the same for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. In this case I chose to "force" the update. For this I turned to the Google Play Store, downloaded the app Turbo VPN, being free and rated 4.7 stars out of 5 possible.
No configuration required, just enabling your smartphone to assume you were in Canada (you can also choose other regions). However, this is one of the first to receive the updates and here she was.
Incremental update for Android smartphones
After downloading, I advise you to disable VPN to speed up the download of the firmware file (system software). As you can see from the image above it is still a considerable file for an "incremental update).

Looking at the list of news you will also have the new image cataloging option, now for “Places” within your image gallery. This option will let you see where you captured the photos and multimedia content.
What's New for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T
We also have, for the Gallery, a new tab with the recently deleted images. There you will find files that are in limbo for 30 days until permanently deleted.
As a last note, we also have bug fixes when connecting to Wi-Fi networks. We also have the microphone incompatibility correction of some AKG headsets, as listed in changelog.
Again, this update is being distributed via OTA (over the air) so it will take some time to reach all units. The alternative being the above (VPN) to force the update, this procedure does not result in any risk.
